Beginner Meditation: Cultivating Stillness in an Anxious World

Learn the benefits of meditation and the practical skills to begin your own practice.
Connections, Friends and Fun
Taught by Jane Savoldi (Class 2)
Would you like to meet other wonderful women in our area? Come for an interactive class focused on having fun and building connections.
Depression, Anxiety and Perfectionism: Finding Healing through Spiritual Action Plans
Taught by Jeff Christensen, MS, LMFT (Class 1, 2)
Do you ever feel like you're not good enough? Have you heard the phrase, "Put it into the Lord's hands and He'll take care of it" only to wonder how to actually make that happen? This class will discuss cognitive distortions we use everyday that drive depression and anxiety and how to correct them with the Lord's help. You will learn how to access the enabling power of the atonement of Jesus Christ to turn weaknesses into strengths and really be able to put things into the Lord's hands. "He Restoreth My Soul": Healing in the Scriptures
Taught by Diane Carrell (Class 1, 3)
The scriptures are full of inspiring stories, revelations and words that can shape and mold us. What scriptures have been a foundation for your testimony? Which scriptures have been a lifeline during a difficult time? Which verses have spoken peace to your soul? Come and share your favorites with us. In this class, we will delight, feast and be nourished by the delicious word of God.
Healing in our Homes: Marriage and Family Relationships
Taught by Regi Issa (Class 2)
Families are at the center of Heavenly Father’s plan for his children in mortality. Oftentimes, families are the source of our greatest joys and during times of challenge – which we all experience – the source of our greatest sorrow and pain. Together we’ll discuss the pains that need healing in our families, possible techniques in navigating these painful times and most importantly, finding that healing through the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Healing is a Process: Recovery from Destructive Choices and Behaviors
Taught by Meri Ellen Turner & Valerie Suppes (Class 2, 3)
Learn to be an active participant with the Savior as you seek hope, healing and a change of heart. Through Jesus Christ, we can make our "...weak things become strong..." (Ether 12:27)
Healing through a Healthy Lifestyle
Taught by Jessica Condon (Class 1, 3)
A conversation about the aspects of a healthy lifestyle - what that is, how we can implement it, and how to appreciate the blessings the Lord offers us through living the way He has designed for our bodies to live.
Healing through Conversion to Jesus Christ
Taught by Sister Paige Holland (Class 1, 2)
We all have moments when we feel weak or even broken. At all times, Jesus Christ invites us to come unto him and be healed. Because of His infinite grace and sacrifice, the Savior's capacity to succor and strengthen is limitless. Come and learn how becoming truly converted to Christ opens us up to the unmatched, restorative powers of His love.
Healing through Expressive Arts
Taught by Tasha Antoniak, MS, CCLS/CTRS, CHC (Class 2, 3)
Expressive Arts can be an important and therapeutic tool for self-discovery. Its powerful modality for healing is much more about the process than the product. This class will engage in a simple but empowering experiential activity to foster self-expression and deepen connection between our mind, body, spirit and relationship to God. All are welcome-- no artistic ability required.
Healing through Music
Taught by Becky Lyman (Class 3)
Healing emotional and spiritual wounds requires emotional, spiritual, and mathematical remedies. Learn how music of the masters, including hymns, can be added to your first aid kit, your survival kit, your productivity kit, your happiness and well-being kit—you name it!
Healthy Relationships for Youth
Taught by Brianna Clarke-Schwelm, MPH from InterAct of Wake County (Class 2)
Youth, parents and leaders are invited to learn about boundaries, healthy expectations, types of abuse and red flags to be aware of in dating and other relationships. Teens can be empowered by knowing what it looks like to be in healthy and unhealthy relationships.
Learning the Healer's Art
Taught by Patty Zeugschmidt (Class 1, 2)
The Savior is the perfect Healer and shows us how to care for each other along the path of life. This class will explore how He nurtures, loves and ministers to us as individuals and how we can be more like Him in our interactions with others.
Personal Safety in Relationships
Taught by Tasha Antoniak, MS, CCLS/CTRS, CHC (Class 1)
Share a safe space among fellow sisters where we will discuss how to discern signs of unhealthy relationships, avoid potentially harmful situations and heal through Christ, who loves us dearly. By embracing our divine worth, we may rebuild from these relationships and thrive as precious daughters of God.
Serving Brings Healing
Taught by Dianna White (Class 1, 3)
Service can be an important tool to bring healing influences into our own lives and for others. Come discuss service, learn about local opportunities to serve and put together "blessing bags" for public servants and the homeless.
Yoga
Taught by Robin Hall (Class 3)
Practicing yoga can bring stillness in a rushing world. This will be a gentle yoga class, appropriate for all levels (including first-timers). Please bring a yoga mat or towel (some extras will be available) and comfortable, fitted clothing to wear. There is a ten-minute break before the class and restrooms available for changing.
